Julia Kay Wolf earned her BA in sociology double majoring in sociology and psychology and minoring in both business management and marketing from Case Western Reserve University in 2015. She earned her MA in sociology from WVU in 2017 and is currently a PhD student in the“community” specialization. Julia is the Vice President of SOCA’s Graduate Sociology Association, is a University Provost 3-Year Graduate Fellow, and served as a managing editor for Population Research and Policy Review (2016-2018). Her interests are in the spatial distribution of health behaviors/outcomes and mortality across the United States and the cultural and environmental factors that affect these place-based disparities; her dissertation will focus on these health disparities as they are experienced by members of the LGBTQ+ community. Julia has strengthened her knowledge and skills in quantitative analysis by completing a graduate certificate in Applied Statistics in the WVU Department of Statistics.
