Matthew is a 2nd year PhD student in Sociology. Matthew is originally from Upstate New York and received his Bachelor's of Science in Sociology from The State University of NY - Oneonta. At WVU he works as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and is researching the effects of digital technology and social media on behavior. The focus of his thesis is the structural, situational, and cognitive factors that lead to the sharing of deviant messages and/or imagery by young adults via Facebook. Matthew's other areas of interest include Social Psychology, Sociology of Media, and Sociology of Knowledge.
