Vivian Guetler


Vivian is a native of Mombasa, Kenya and a second year PhD student. She received her BA from Alpen Adria University, Klagenfurt, Austria in English and American Studies, and her MA from Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY in Pan African Studies. Vivian’s research interests include terrorism/violent extremism, specifically counter-terrorism policies; countering violent extremism on social media; terrorism and the media, social media, & the internet; foreign fighters & returnees; terrorist tactics & messaging strategies; rehabilitation of children born to terrorists; and immigration, diaspora & terrorism. Vivian is a Graduate Research Assistant under Dr. Bossarte in Injury Control Research Center in the Public Health department.
