Dr. Megan Mohler is an Assistant Professor of Criminology at West Virginia University. She received her Ph.D. in Criminal Justice from Temple University. Her research is broadly concerned with processes of change and the relationship between social structure and human agency, with particular attention to how reflexivity shapes individual and organizational responses to social conditions.

Her research examines change across individual, organizational, and institutional contexts. Her work on desistance and recovery from substance use examines how modes of reflexivity shape the mechanisms through which individuals achieve change. Her past research has also examined criminal justice reform efforts in policing and prosecution. She is a mixed-methods researcher who uses quantitative methods alongside qualitative approaches, particularly in-depth interviews, to understand how people experience, interpret, and navigate processes of change.
