Sarah Krueger

Sarah Krueger earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and a Bachelor Science in Political Science with a minor in religion from Western Carolina University in 2019. In 2024, she earned a Master of Arts in Sociology and Criminology from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. She is interested in the intersection of crime and religion, particularly in cases where fraud or harm have occurred. Her thesis for her MA was a participant observation ethnography and document analysis of a megachurch investigating the differences between their narrative and practice and the ways in which that indicated who their target consumer was. She also investigated the tactics the church would use to "enchant" consumers and how that related to the larger field of religious institutions within that area.

Sarah is now working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at WVU and continuing her studies with topics related to crime and religion including Multi Level Marketing groups and their connections to political campaigns as a means of legally perpetuating harm.

In her free time, Sarah enjoys hiking with her dog and exploring wild and wonderful West Virginia!
