Tucker Seifert

GRADUATE TEACHING ASSISTANT

Tucker Seifert earned a B.A. in Anthropology from Sonoma State University and an M.A. in History from Appalachian State University. His main interests pertain to drug use and the Upland South. Specifically, Tucker aims to incorporate historical and social scientific approaches to mitigate the impacts of the opioid epidemic, especially in mountainous regions such as Appalachia and the Ozarks. He also is interested in the introduction of unregulated and novel psychoactive substances as well as community-based harm reduction strategies. Tucker developed a unit map to teach The History of Opioids in the United States at an upper-division college level for his M.A. product of learning. Tucker is currently a first-year doctoral student in Sociology at West Virginia University and serves as a Graduate Teaching Assistant.
