Kurtis Dennison

Kurtis Dennison is a first year PhD student in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at West Virginia University. He is a first-generation college student who graduated with a BA in Theatre from Fairmont State University (2014) and an MA in Power, Participation and Social Change from the University of Sussex (2021). Kurtis is a returned Peace Corps Volunteer having served in Rwanda from 2015-17. He currently works as an academic advisor and program coordinator in the International Studies Program housed in the Department of Political Science at WVU. His research interests currently include Rwanda, gender performance, national identity, sexuality, and participatory action research. He is an avid board gamer, a proud Swiftie, and a haiku enthusiast.
