Marina Mohd Hamdan
Marina Mohd Hamdan is a student from Malaysia who came to West Virginia University in 2017 and graduated with a BA in Criminology with minors in Psychology and Political Science. She is currently a first-year student pursuing a doctoral degree in Sociology. Marina is interested in studying legal aspects of the criminal justice system. In addition to that, she wishes to understand privilege and oppression by researching the effects of war and oppressive regimes on a global scale. Her research has been predominantly focused on class differences within societies, and the significance of education and legal protection for at-risk communities. By utilizing her international background, she seeks to further analyze intersectionality within class groups and its nuances.
