Mary Frederick

Mary is a first year Ph.D. student. She completed her bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and Sociology with a minor in Psychology at Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois. During her time at Benedictine, she worked at the Illinois Youth Center in Chicago where she gained experience in juvenile justice while working with incarcerated youth. After graduating in 2022, she expanded on her experience and worked at the Youth Opportunity Center in Muncie, Indiana where she worked with juveniles once again. Currently at WVU, she is a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology. Her interests include sociology of media, deviance, sociological theory, social inequality and more.
