Mary Frederick

Mary Frederick is a third-year PhD student and Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at West Virginia University. Originally from Houston, Texas, she graduated from Benedictine University (IL) with a BA in Criminal Justice and Sociology and a minor in Psychology (2022). In the spring of 2025, she earned her MA in Sociology from WVU. Her research interests center on the sociology of media, with a particular focus on the social influence of digital platforms and the impact of social media influencers and content creators.
